The Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) is the global immunization strategy for the decade 2021–2030. It has a clear vision – a world where everyone, everywhere, at every age fully benefits from vaccines for good health and well-being.
Immunization Agenda (IA2030) was unanimously adopted by countries at the World Health Assembly in 2020. It is supported by partner organizations from every country and region of the world.
In this new decade for immunization, IA2030 provides a strategic framework to accelerate the drive towards universal immunization, catalysing action at community, national, regional and global levels. It has a strong focus on equity and the urgent need to reach “zero-dose” children – those not receiving any life-saving vaccines.
At the Seventy-Fourth World Health Assembly, the Director General of the World Health Organization called for “a broad social movement for immunization that will ensure that immunization remains high on global and regional health agendas and help to generate a groundswell of support or social movement for immunization”.
A Movement is larger than any one individual or organization. Countries, civil society, and partners are coming together in a global movement to achieve the goals of IA2030.
On 7 March 2022, 6,185 health professionals from 99 countries responded to the call from the Geneva Learning Foundation (TGLF) to join a series of peer learning activities to contribute to the Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030). Most are government staff who work in districts and health facilities side-by-side with civil society organizations and communities.
Working together through digital networks, these health professionals are producing new knowledge and insights through their practice and shared learning.
